Etreek is an innovative digital initiative that addresses misinformation and emphasises the importance of fact-checking and accountability in media and journalism. It employs data visualisation and storytelling as creative tools to communicate, document Yemeni culture and heritage, and promote social values and impactful change. The program comes as a response to the growing trend of misinformation, and the need to provide Yemenis with the tools and know-how to differentiate fake news, misinformation and disinformation, as well as providing them with credible sources and platforms of knowledge. It aims to advocate for Yemeni Youth voices and showcase the reality of the Yemeni citizen. The program targets internet users in general, and provides them with media campaigns on social media platforms. The campaigns often employ a number of tools like data visualization, videos and films. Each campaign aims to educate and create awareness around issues related to social justice, human rights, and social values.
